TRAVEL PROGRAM TRYOUTS

Our Travel Program as three different levels -- Select, Travel and Academy.

When registering your player for tryouts, please make sure you are registering for the intended level.


  • Please note our top Academy level teams U11-U19 are listed as ACADEMY ID SESSIONS

Schedules for all rising U11-U19 Travel and Select Tryouts are posted and registration is open.


Tryouts for rising U8-U10 age groups will be held beginning the week of May 18, with the schedule to be posted soon and registration to follow.


Please note US Soccer has moved to the age-group cutoff of August 1-July 31  to determine eligibility for each age group beginning in the 2026-2027 season, and our  travel tryouts in spring 2026 will be set accordingly. Travel Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of travel soccer varies depending on age group and level. When selected players receive an invitation to a travel team, they will receive the specific fee associated with their team and what it includes. Unlike many clubs that separate “club fees” and additional “team fees,” DC Soccer Club’s Travel Program fees are structured as an all-inclusive club fee—making it easier for families to anticipate costs throughout the season and pay through consistent monthly installments.


For the 2026-2027 travel season, travel program costs are approximately between $1700 - $3500 depending on Select, Travel or Academy level. For more specific information by level, please go to Program Information. The fee for DC Soccer Club’s travel program follows an all-inclusive club fee model and includes the following in its pricing:

  • Coaching and club staff salaries
  • Select tournaments
  • State cup competitions for eligible teams
  • League fees
  • Winter programming
  • Goalkeeper Training
  • State association fees
  • Player carding/registration fees
  • Field and facility fees
  • Insurance
  • Referee fees
  • PlayMetrics platform
  • Player and coach development 


Teams may elect to participate in additional tournaments not already included in the club fees, and those costs would be split by the amount of players on the team and incurred separately.


Uniforms are also purchased separately by players outside of the club fees, generally between $250-$350 for a 2-year cycle. 


The fee for travel soccer may be paid once or in monthly installments, and customized payment plans may be available upon request. All players are required to pay a non-refundable deposit upon accepting an offer to a team. 

FINANCIAL AID

Our club is committed to ensuring that all players can participate in travel soccer regardless of economic status. As such, we offer a generous financial aid program for qualifying families, and this includes assistance for uniforms. Please note, financial aid must be applied for annually and submission of an application does not guarantee financial aid assistance.

We encourage families to apply for financial aid as soon as possible when registering for tryouts. This will allow time for the club to review qualification ahead of the tryouts, so that any players receiving offers to join the team will be able to accept in a timely manner with an up front understanding of what the cost will be. There is no obligation by applying for the financial aid, and you'll be notified within five business days.

Competitive Levels by Age Group

We offer three distinct levels in our travel program for players  -- Select, Travel, and Academy--to find the right fit based on their commitment and development. Please see our Program Information to understand the difference between each level.


  • Academy teams are the highest level in each age group U11-U19.
  • At our Travel Level (the middle tier of our travel program) U8-U19, we typically have between 2-5 teams in each age group to offer players the right fit for their current development with the opportunity for growth. Within each age group, DC Soccer Club forms multiple teams that are organized into tiered competitive level to ensure players are placed on a team with other similar level-players that meets their appropriate developmental level and play in the right league for competition.
  • At the Select level (entry level of travel program) U8-U14, multiple Select teams in each age group are not necessarily tiered based on development.


Our structure allows players to grow within the club at the pace that best suits their development. Movement between teams in the age group is possible from season to season, as players continue to progress and demonstrate their commitment and ability. This structure ensures every player has the opportunity to compete, improve, and advance along their soccer pathway.
